I think it’s important for every entrepeneur to understand the difference between creating a job for themself and building a company.  Every day I take a step back and think about the decisions I’m making to determine if it’s helping me build the company I want to have or if I’m just creating work for myself.  There is a big distinction between the two.

There is nothing wrong in deciding that you want to work for yourself and striking out on your own to provide unique services to people and becoming a company of one.  I see people everyday that fall in this category and it’s working for them.  I have other goals…

There are many reasons I set out on this journey some three months ago and one of them is to create a unique, healthy and very creative culture that would attract people of  like mind.  I have a vision for my company to have multiple divisions and office locations to better serve clients from coast to coast.  I want to invest in the lives of future employees and to provide a place of true belonging.  Where they are not only able to provide for their family but that they feel a part of something much bigger than them.

Currently it’s just me working hard to establish something bigger than me and it really started with my company name, Integrated Solutions GROUP.  Yes it’s funny when my wife asks me “Exactly what group are you refering to dear?”  Of course even in this infant start up stage I have a group of people I work with on an outsource basis, but it’s my goal to have a GROUP within the walls of the ISG offices.  So while I work to build this foundation, I make decisions everyday that are intended to impact the future of my company.  It may not always make since for what ISG is today, but it’s my hope it will set the tone for what ISG will be in the future…
