There is a saying in business or in life really…¬†Can’t see the forest for the trees.¬†This stipulates that sometimes we are so close to the situation that we can no longer see the whole picture. We are so focused on the individual trees that we have lost sight of the much bigger object, in this case the forest. Not only does this stop our progress but it can really lead us to make several wrong decisions because we no longer have an accurate view of our current situation.

As a consultant in the AEC industry, which is full of thinkers, designers and people who examine things in great detail, I often see how they can become fixated on the individual trees within their company but miss the larger picture. Before long, they lose sight of who they are, why they do what they do or even where they want to go. They become so bogged down in the minutia of every day…

As a boutique firm, we customize our approach with every client. This does not mean we know all the answers, but we do spend a LOT of time getting to know our clients. Because our firm is NOT bogged down in the minutia of your every day, we’re able to see the big picture. It’s through this lens that we begin offering solutions to you that can help move you forward. Oddly enough, the clients typically are responsible for some of the best ideas… they just needed a catalyst to create those thoughts.

That is the essence of a 3rd party consultant. Sure we can bring a fresh idea, a new perspective, even perhaps a skill set that isn’t forrest for the treesfound within your own people. At the end of the day what we truly are is a catalyst to help you see the big picture…
